I discovered this awesome looking house while walking the Riverside in Walton-on-Thames. I believe it is unoccupied, well, it looked like it. Situated on D'Oyly Carte Island, named after Richard D'Oyly Carte, a private island on the River Thames near to Shepperton Lock, it is isolated from most of the area and the only way in is your own private bridge! ...Or boat. The first time I came across Eyot House the front of the bridge was barricaded and filled with overgrown plants and weeds and this view was impossible. Due to the February weather the vegetation had deminished and the barricade was accessible but still a tricky location.
This time I managed to capture the essence I was hoping for, it looks like the house is in a state of repair, an almost spooky 'Do Not Enter' style. I wanted to capture that feeling but without going overboard and disrespecting the beauty of the house, the blue skies and faint sunshine helped add some realism to the scene, and an alomst movie like location.

Walton Bridge on a very windy day. Loving the ripples in the water on this one but I could have done with a different lens, 35mm just wasn't enough from this location. Walton-on-Thames is a beautiful location and has a sense of tranquility about it, like a mellow passion for perfect peace... Free parking, now can you believe that?! The River Thames never ceases to amaze me, it has everything!
